Having had my spinal surgery this week I can safely say there is a very long road to recovery ahead.

I had the exact same surgery nearly 7 years ago but had a 1 year old baby to try and look after too at the time. I wasn’t allowed to pick up my baby for the next 12 months. Undoubtedly the hardest year of my life.

This time round I’m determined to take it easy. We will be very limited with what we’re able to do, I don’t want to risk making any mistakes with my health. Safe to say we will be very selective with what we take on over the next 12 months with the possibility of some changes regarding operation and the business model itself.

Thanks to all our loyal customers for their well wishes, patience and understanding.

Missing the main wedding season this year because of ill health has been a hard blow to deal with.

Thankfully we were able to get some beautiful weddings in before I had to suspend the business for the next few months.
•
This wedding cake was created for Emma & Mathew who’s wedding had been postponed a few times because of COVID. I was so glad they finally had their special day after all the planning and effort they’d put into their day.
•
Next year may mean we limit the number of weddings we take on. We still have some spaces though so you’re welcome to send across your enquiry if interested.

Things just need to P A U S E for a little while.
•
Unfortunately I’ve had to suspend the business. Hopefully not for too long, but long enough for me to recover properly this time.
•
2022 has really thrown me. It’s been so hard with COVID in January and two long hospital admissions and I really can’t wait for it to be over.
•
I rushed back into work too quickly after I was discharged in March, using crutches and a prop stool to work day & night to make sure I didn’t let anyone down. There’s no way round it now, I need to stop and look after myself.
•
Since the latest hospital admission at the start of June I’ve been bedridden and am now at home awaiting Spinal Surgery on 18th July. I will need some time to recover post surgery and going by last time (I’ve had all this 6 years ago) it will be at least a good few months. Of course we will keep you updated to let you know when the books will reopen.
•
In the meantime, I will hopefully be able to start posting some of the 100’s of cakes we haven’t posted and always intended too!
•
It’s not like us to do a long winded post but felt I needed to let all our lovely, loyal customers and followers know what’s going on. Thank you for your support and understanding.
